Your celebrant can be so much more than the person who says "I do".

Choosing a wedding celebrant and event planner in Sydney can give you more than someone to conduct your ceremony. It can give you someone who understands the bigger picture of your celebration — from the ceremony itself to your suppliers, styling, entertainment, guest experience and all the little details that make an event come together.

When couples start planning their wedding, they often think about their celebrant and their event planner as two completely separate roles.

What Does an Event-Experienced Wedding Celebrant Bring to Your Wedding?

Having someone who understands both the ceremony and the broader event can bring an entirely different perspective to your wedding day. For me, this isn't simply another service I have added to my celebrancy business.

Event planning has been part of my professional life for many years.

Before becoming a celebrant, I worked across event management, marketing, client service and relationship management, including running my own small event company. I've planned, coordinated and delivered events where there are countless moving parts — suppliers, venues, timelines, logistics, styling, entertainment, guests and, most importantly, the experience people have on the day. That experience now naturally finds its way into the way I work with my wedding couples.

I see the bigger picture

As your celebrant, my primary responsibility is, of course, to create and conduct a beautiful, meaningful ceremony. But I'm also looking at what is happening around it.

  • How will your guests move from the ceremony to the reception?

  • Is there enough time for photographs?

  • Where will the musicians set up?

  • Will the weather affect your ceremony plans?

  • Does the styling complement the space?

  • Have you thought about what your guests will do during photographs?

  • Could a particular piece of entertainment add something special?

  • Are there little details that could make your ceremony or celebration feel more personal?

Creativity beyond Ceremony - Sometimes couples don't know what questions they should be asking — and that's where experience can be invaluable

Creativity is more than choosing flowers and colours. One of the things I love most about events is the opportunity to create something that feels uniquely yours.

Your wedding doesn't have to look like everyone else's. Perhaps you want a relaxed garden celebration, an intimate wedding with your closest family and friends, a multicultural ceremony incorporating elements of your heritage, or a celebration that brings together two families and two different stories.

I love thinking creatively about the possibilities. That might mean suggesting a different ceremony format, incorporating a meaningful ritual, creating an unexpected guest experience, finding the right entertainment or simply helping you think beyond the traditional wedding formula. Sometimes the best ideas come from asking: "What if we did it differently?"

Connections to Trusted Sydney Wedding Suppliers

Years of working in events has also allowed me to develop relationships with a wonderful network of people working within the wedding and events industry.

Depending on what you need, I can point you towards trusted professionals including:

📸 Photographers and videographers

🌸 Florists, stylists and decorators

🍽️ Caterers and cake designers

🎶 Musicians, DJs and live entertainment

🎤 MCs and entertainers

🏛️ Wedding venues and event spaces

💡 Lighting, AV and production specialists

💇 Hair and makeup professionals

🎪 Hire companies and event equipment

🚌 Transport and other ancillary services

🎨 Creative and personalised event suppliers

I'm not suggesting that you need every supplier on this list! Rather, having someone who knows the industry and can connect you with the right people can make the planning process considerably easier. And because relationships matter to me, I don't believe in simply handing you a long list of suppliers. I'll listen to what you're looking for and, where I can, point you towards people who I believe could be a good fit for you, your style and your budget.

Understanding the Bigger Picture

One of the greatest advantages of having event experience is understanding that a successful event isn't just about what guests see. It's everything happening behind the scenes.

  • The bump-in.

  • The timing.

  • The supplier coordination.

  • The weather contingency.

  • The microphone that suddenly doesn't work.

  • The musician who needs power.

  • The photographer who needs another ten minutes.

  • The caterer who needs access.

The little things that most guests never notice — because someone has thought about them beforehand. That is the beauty of good event planning. When it's done well, it looks effortless.

Helping Your Wedding Day Run Smoothly

A wedding ceremony is one part of a much bigger celebration. And as your celebrant, I'm privileged to be one of the people who helps set the tone for the entire day.

I want your guests to feel welcomed. I want your ceremony to feel authentic. I want the transition from ceremony to celebration to feel natural. And I want you to be able to relax and enjoy one of the most important days of your life.

My event-management experience allows me to bring that broader perspective to my role as a celebrant. It means I can sometimes see a potential problem before it becomes a problem. It means I can suggest an idea you may not have considered. And it means I have a pretty good understanding of just how many moving pieces need to come together to create a memorable event.

Why Experience Matters

Ultimately, choosing a celebrant is about finding someone you trust. Someone who listens.

Someone who understands you. Someone who can tell your story beautifully and make you feel comfortable standing in front of everyone you love.

But if that person also understands events, suppliers, venues, logistics, timing and the guest experience, you have an additional layer of support. And that's something I'm proud to bring to my couples.

Your Celebrant Can Be More Than The Person Who Says "I do".
